Free software design tools (UML)

ArgoUML: ArgoUML is the leading open source UML modeling tool and includes support for all standard UML 1.4 diagrams. It runs on any Java platform and is available in ten languages. My comments: This tool has been reasonably easy to use and effective for drawing UML diagrams such as use case diagram, activity diagram and so on. Many of my software engineering class students have used it for UML modeling for their group assignment.
